While Restaurant-On-Wheels In CSMT Is Set To Close Soon, LTT Kurla To Get One After It

Restaurant-On-Wheels is a fun concept and it has received much love at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai(CSMT). Unfortunately, though, this particular restaurant is set to close soon owing to the extensive redevelopment that the hub is set to undergo. But if you’re sad about its closing because you loved the concept so much, fret not! Another Restaurant-On-Wheels is set to open soon. Here are all the details you need to know about it!

LTT In Kurla To Soon Get A Restaurant-On-Wheels

While the Restaurant-On-Wheels situated at CSMT is set to close because of the elaborate redevelopment plan that the station is set to undergo. However, the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus or the LTT in Kurla is all set to get a Restaurant-On-Wheels.

According to an article recently published by the Mid-Day Mumbai, an air-conditioned coach of an Utkrisht class of rail has been isolated for the purpose. This particular coach has been positioned on the tracks that were newly laid opposing the LTT station.

The article also mentioned that the rates of the restaurant will be determined by the licensee. The licensee is also responsible for maintaining the surrounding and the approaching corridor at their own cost. They may decide the rates by taking into account the market-approved rates set by the railway.

The authorities from the Central Railways or the CR have identified other such locations where Restaurant-On-Wheels can be established. So far, it seems that places like Dadar, Kalyan, Neral, Lonavla, Matheran and Igatpuri might soon get a Restaurant-On-Wheels.

Authorities are also discussing relocating the one located at the CSMT. It is a luxurious joint with air-conditioning and is capable of housing around 40 patrons at a time. It serves multiple cuisines like North Indian, South Indian, Continental, and much more. This joint is much loved by the locals who enjoy the unique experience of sitting inside trains and dining.
