Imagine a cocktail that delivers all the fresh, savoury comfort of a Caprese Salad in a single sip yet packs a punch that can leave you with more than just a craving for tomatoes and basil. Introducing the Caprese Martini, a brilliant creation from the minds behind Jac’s on Bond, a trendy cocktail bar in New York. This drink redefines what a martini can be, offering a flavourful twist for all caprese salad lovers.
What Makes These Caprese Martini Unique?
The Caprese Martini is unique in that it combines the best elements of a classic Caprese Salad—ripe, juicy tomatoes, fragrant basil, and rich olive oil—but reimagines them in liquid form. What makes this drink truly stand out is the infusion process that lends vodka a vibrant, savoury edge.
Infused with tomato, basil, and olive oil, this vodka becomes the foundation for a martini unlike any other. A hit of balsamic vinegar adds the necessary acidity, while a pinch of salt ties everything together, balancing the sweetness of the tomatoes and the bitterness of the oil.
This cocktail doesn’t just taste like a Caprese Salad; it feels like one too. The martini hat provides the same comforting warmth as the original dish but with a modern, boozy twist.
