With AED 1 Million Sales Per Day, Viral Dubai Chocolate Is Dubai Duty Free’s Hottest Selling Item

If you thought airport shopping was just about duty-free perfume and overpriced neck pillows, think again. Dubai International Airport (DXB) just had one of its biggest months ever, and while the planes were packed, so were people’s shopping bags, with chocolate. But not just any chocolate. We’re talking the Dubai chocolate. The viral one. The creamy, kunafa-crunchy, pistachio-drenched Dubai Chocolate bar that’s now raking in over AED1 million every single day at Dubai Duty Free.

Dubai’s Viral Chocolate Is Now a AED1 Million-a-Day Airport Obsession

According to Dubai Duty Free’s latest figures, April 2025 was massive. The airport clocked in its fourth-best month in history, bringing in a whopping AED713 million in sales. Of that, nearly AED28 million came from just one thing, this now-iconic chocolate bar. Yep, that’s four per cent of total sales from one snack. Mind = blown.

So what’s the deal with this chocolate? First created by FIX Dessert Chocolatiers, it blends creamy pistachio with shredded kunafa and wraps it all in a chocolate shell that’s as photogenic as it is delicious. It exploded on TikTok and Instagram, and suddenly, it was everywhere, from Dubai malls to knockoff versions lining shelves abroad.

At DXB, the pop-up by FIX at Terminal 3 ran wild during Eid Al Fitr before wrapping up. But the demand didn’t. At least five other brands kept the chocolate flowing throughout the terminals, and passengers kept snapping it up like it was going out of fashion.

Souvenir Staple Or Sweet Tooth Trophy?

Here’s where it gets fun. It’s become the souvenir to grab when leaving Dubai. Sure, you could buy fridge magnets or gold-plated camels, but let’s be honest, none of those taste like pistachio cream heaven.

Even travel site Expedia confirmed in 2024 that travellers were flying into Dubai just to try the chocolate. Think about that. People are booking plane tickets over dessert. What a time to be alive.

And if you want the real deal, not the dupe, FIX remains the gold standard. You won’t find it at every store, though. It’s exclusive, so you can only order it through Deliveroo in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. So unless you’ve got a boarding pass or a local address, you’re out of luck.

In a city that doesn’t do anything halfway, the rise of viral chocolate as a top airport seller feels completely on-brand. Luxury perfumes, gold, fancy drinks, they’re still flying off the shelves. But the humble bar from FIX is holding its own and claiming its spot as Dubai’s sweetest export.

The only question left? How many bars can you fit in your carry-on without getting stopped at security?
