We can all agree that the anxiety that grips us while we have a connecting flight is something unexplainable! Add to this the frustration one experiences when there is a flight delay and you have the recipe for a perfect blunder at your disposal! This is something that X (formerly Twitter) user, Debarghya Das experienced recently with IndiGo Airlines. In a thread on X, the IndiGo passenger explained how he had the “worst flight experience” of his life because of six flight delays and a late airline response. He shared the details of the entire incident online.

7-Hour Delay & International Flight Miss, A Sad Tale Of Delayed Flight


Debarghya Das had booked a flight from Kolkata to Bengaluru with IndiGo, where he was supposed to board a connecting international flight to San Francisco. Sharing the details on his X account, Debarghya Das explained that his flight from Kolkata to Bengaluru was delayed six times. This resulted in an overall delay of 7 hours!

Because of the delay, he decided to cancel his flight with IndiGo and book a direct one from Kolkata to San Francisco. This led to further chaos because IndiGo took two hours to cancel his flight ticket and bring back his checked-in luggage.

He shared his displeasure with the IndiGo’s crew attitude towards the entire situation as well.

According to him, the airline showed complete disregard and disrespect to its passenger’s “time and money.”

Passenger Shares His Lesson, IndiGo’s Response & Refund

In one of the posts on the now viral thread, Debarghya took a dig at IndiGo’s tagline that says – “always on-time.” The airlines conveyed their regret for the inconvenience by initiating a complete refund on the ticket. Although there has been no direct comment from the airlines, Netizens have flooded Debarghya Das’s post with their own experience with IndiGo and even shared a few tips!

Well, this was a complete mess! Here’s hoping no one ever has to go through such an experience again – fingers crossed!
