Amar Kaushik’s comedy horror film ‘Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank’ is creating a buzz on the Internet post its theatrical release on August 15, 2024. Actors Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana reprised their roles from the original 2018 film, Stree. During the filming of its sequel, there were a lot of news updates about haunted narratives at the spooky locations they shot at. It got us intrigued and we listed down all the real-life shooting locations of Stree 2.

1. Chanderi Fort, Chanderi

Chanderi is a historical town in Madhya Pradesh where Stree was filmed. The filmmakers made their way to this town for the film’s sequel and shot at the perfect eerie locations. This helped to carry forward the suspenseful and haunted vibes from the original film. This in turn added to the authenticity of the storyline for Stree 2. Chanderi Fort became quintessential for this film. It is a Mughal fort with exquisite architecture that overlooks the pretty skyline of Chanderi. Many important scenes were shot here.

2. Raja Rani Mahal, Chanderi

The seven-storied Raja Rani Mahal is another popular real-life filming location of Stree 2. So much so that it is an integral part of the narrative! The iconic staircase is prominently showcased in the films and fans eagerly visit this spot to check out the real location. Even for the promotions of Stree 2, Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao shot cool pictures at this staircase.

Keep an eye out for the final scenes where you can catch the eerie setting of the Kati Ghati Gateway. It showcases a farewell between the main character and a mystery girl which adds more to the horror-themed storyline of Stree.

4. Taj Mahal Palace, Bhopal

Yes, there is a Taj Mahal in Bhopal; it is also a palace. It is a hidden gem in Bhopal that was a filming location for this horror film. Interestingly, this historic architectural marvel has numerous haunted stories linked to it. Even the crew and cast experienced something eerie while setting up for filming. Despite its haunting reputation, the filmmakers went ahead with the shoot. This scenario aided the suspense and horror-themed narrative.

5. Bihar

The groovy song ‘Aaj Ki Raat’ was shot in Bihar. This dance number was choreographed by Vijay Ganguly and it features Tamannaah Bhatia alongside the male actors of Stree 2. Amar Kaushik wanted to shoot this under harsh weather conditions to give the song a more realistic setting.
