Air Arabia is a low-cost carrier that hardly needs any introduction to flyers. And now, on January 13, Monday it was announced that passengers of the airline can now carry free hand baggage that does not exceed the weight limit of 10 KG. Here’s everything you need to know about this massive travel-related development.

Air Arabia recently took to its official account on X to notify passengers that they are now allowed to carry hand baggage for free as long as the weight does not exceed 10 KG. It’s worth mentioning that the allowed weight includes two pieces, which is one carry-on baggage and one small personal item.
The dimensions for the carry-on must be 55 cm X 40 cm X 20 cm. They must be designed to fit the overhead compartment safely. While the second bag that they carry can be a handbag, duty-free bag, or even a backpack. It must be able to fit under the seat in front of the passenger and dimensions should be 25 cm X 33 cm X 20 cm.

What About Other Airlines?
It’s worth mentioning that people who are travelling with an infant are allowed to carry an extra 3 KG. At this point, it’s worth mentioning that other UAE airlines like Emirates, Etihad Airways, and flydubai allow passengers to carry one handbag that does not exceed 7 KG. However, duty-free purchases of liquor, cigarettes and perfume in reasonable quantities are allowed in Emirates. And those people who are travelling with an infant from seven days to 23 months on Etihad Airways can take one cabin bag weighing up to 5 KG plus an extra item, like a pushchair or carrycot.
flydubai allows one laptop bag, one ladies’ handbag, or one gentleman special, besides the 7 KG hand luggage. So, the next time you are travelling via Air Arabia, you might want to keep this change in mind for your easy travel experience.
