Tourists can now easily travel across Ladakh in a helicopter as the helicopter services in the Union Territory are now open for locals and tourists in general across sectors.
The First Batch Already Took Their Ride
After it was announced that helicopter services are now open to people living in the Union Territory as well as tourists in general across sectors on Tuesday, the first batch of passengers took the helicopter ride. The helicopter service will be operated by the administration and the ones who desire to take the ride can book it online at https://heliservice.ladakh.gov.in/. Ladakh’s civil aviation department has handed down notice to the administration detailing the prices associated with the service for residents of Ladakh. The portal offers a unique booking interface for passengers who are not Ladakhis.

Availability Of Tickets Depends On Various Factors
Tourists will now be able to enjoy the serenity and beauty of Ladakh in a helicopter ride. All they have to do is go online on the given portal and book the tickets. The availability of the Helicopter ride tickets purely depends on factors like weather conditions, the number of passengers and operational restrictions (if any). Two helicopters have been designated for the service: a five-seat B-3 chopper and a larger Mi-172. Initial service areas include Leh, Kargil, Padum, Lingshed, Dibling, Neyrak, Diskit, Turtuk, Srinagar, and Jammu.
