You Can Visit Himachal Again As Shimla-Dharamshala Flights Are Restored. But Do Travel Responsibly

If you have been following the weather updates in India for the past few months, you know that Himachal Pradesh was one of the worst-hit regions of the country and it faced terrible weather. The recent heavy rains washed away homes and even parts of highways rendering the place inaccessible and even closing some exits. However, the region is ready to welcome tourists again. The airfares for Shimla-Dharamshala flights have also dropped.

The last few months have been extremely difficult for Himachal Pradesh as the incessant rains made even leaving homes a challenge. Many highways were affected because of that too. However, now the region is safe to visit again as per the Chief Minister of the state, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.

According to an article recently published by The Times Of India, Amit Kashyap, who is the Tourism and Civil Aviation Director, also concurred with this sentiment. He said that tourists can avail of a number of discounts at hotels during this time of the year.

He also went on to say that there was a subsidy on the fare of all seats on the Shimla-Dharamshala-Shimla flight and it will be borne by the state government. The fare has been fixed at ₹3,000 plus taxes. Though the region is safe to visit now, it is advised that tourists travel to the region in a responsible fashion.

The CM also said that though many highways were impacted by the rains, which, in turn, impacted the travellers, these damages have been fixed by the government. And hence, the region is not completely safe to visit.

He said that tourists may freely travel to places like Dalhousie, Dharamshala, Kasauli, Mcleodganj, Shimla, etc., as the roads have been repaired. Chail, Narkanda and Kasauli are also open to tourists.

He said that one of the major contributing factors to the SGDP was tourism, which took a hit due to the rains. SGDP stands for State Gross Domestic Product. Hence, restoring tourism is imperative.
