On the latest episode of Sunday Brunch, Curly Tales Chief Editor, Kamiya Jani invites Double XL cast Sonakshi Sinha, Huma Qureshi and Zaheer Iqbal for a lovely Diwali meal. The reel and real friends competed with each other to make Motichoor laddoos, gorged on delicious food at One8 Commune, and revealed their travel and food secrets.
Zaheer Iqbal, who made his Bollywood debut in the 2019 film, Notebook, shared an interesting personal story. The actor revealed how superstar Salman Khan played a major role in introducing him to the world of Bollywood. Here’s all about it.
Salman Khan Helped Zaheer Iqbal Become An Actor
Curly Tales Chief Editor, Kamiya Jani asked Zaheer Iqbal — who comes from a business family — about his entry into Bollywood. Zaheer revealed to Curly Tales “So, Salman Bhai and my dad happen to be childhood friends. So, obviously, he was invited to my sister’s wedding.”
So, as part of the sangeet function, Zaheer ( the brother of the bride) danced with his best friend. They produced a play and acted and also danced together. While Salman Khan had another commitment and planned to leave in 10-15 minutes, he decided to stay for an hour and watch the performance.
The moment the performance got over, Salman Khan called Zaheer Iqbal aside. Zaheer quips “Salman Bhai asked me what are you doing nowadays. I said I’m doing this business and stuff. He said chod de (leave it).”

A shocked Zaheer asked Salman Bhai what he meant by this. The superstar told him he should become an actor, as he is made to be in front of the camera. Salman Khan called him over to his place the day after to help him become an actor. The Bollywood biggie made Zaheer Iqbal his assistant director. And his Bollywood journey began from there.
