This 19-Year-Old Pilot Is All Set To Become The Youngest Woman To Fly The Entire World Solo

Breaking stereotypes, 19-year-old pilot Zara Rutherford is on her mission to become the youngest woman to fly solo all around the world. On August 18, 2021, Zara had commenced her thrilling journey in Belgium. By completing this mission, the British-Belgian pilot will enter the Guinness Book of World Records. What’s more, with her achievement, she also aims to motivate other young women to pursue their dreams. On December 31, Zara touched down at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), Mumbai, completing 80% of her journey. Zara keeps sharing updates of her journey on the Instagram handle fly.zolo.

Before heading to Mumbai, she had arrived in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

Making History By Flying Over The World!

Zara has already flown over countries like Iceland, Mexico, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan, Korea, Russia, India and Saudi Arabia, among others. In her latest post, Zara revealed that she has landed in Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh. She added that her 4.5-hour flight from Dubai to Riyadh was ‘pretty smooth’.

In the website Fly Zolo, Zara has stated that she strives to reduce the gender gap in the Aviation sector as well as Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). She has also added a tracking button to allow others to track her journey. The tracking page consists of an Arrival Board where she provides updates on her arrivals and departures.
