Visiting Happy Valley Tea Estate is an incredible experience for not just witnessing breathtaking views but also travelling to an establishment that was established long back in 1854. You might be surprised to hear that this tea estate is the second oldest in Darjeeling. Isn’t it an epic place to add to your itinerary?

Nestled over a huge area of 177 hectares, there are some amazing experiences to enjoy here. Starting from walking in between the massive tea gardens to enjoying the serene views and weather, you can also get to see the never-seen-before process of manufacturing tea. There is a dedicated tour of the place that takes you on an informational journey about the estate. From checking the flavours to even taking a few sips, this tour is a must for tourists, especially tea lovers.

The estate is located as high as 2,100 metres above sea level. Along with great chai, get ready to be mesmerised by the panoramic surroundings as well. The estate is also home to a boutique from where you can purchase your favourite flavours of tea.

Remember that the estate remains closed during the winter season as tea plucking does not happen from November to February.

How To Reach This Beautiful Happy Valley Tea Estate?

Air connectivity: The nearest airport to Darjeeling is the Bagdogra Airport, about 90 km away from the hill station. Many airlines operate regular flights from several Indian cities to Bagdogra.

Rail connectivity: To reach your destination, you can travel to three railway stations; Darjeeling Himalayan, New Jalpaiguri, and Siliguri railway stations.

Road connectivity: It is quite easy to travel to Darjeeling via road and the easiest way passes through Siliguri. From booking private cars to using public bus services, you will get enough transportation options from the airport, railway stations, bus stops, and more.

From the bustling Chowk Bazaar part of Darjeeling, the Happy Valley Tea Estate is at a distance of about 3 km. It will take just about 15 minutes to reach via Darjeeling-Jorethang road.
