India’s beloved online food delivery platform Zomato has time and again come up with an array of initiatives to voice its concerns about different causes. Earlier, it introduced electric bikes and also bagged a Guinness World Record for the largest first-aid lesson. This time, Zomato has distributed sanitary napkins to its female delivery partners in Tamil Nadu to encourage healthy menstrual hygiene habits. Here’s more to it.
Zomato Partners With Femi9 To Provide Free Sanitary Napkins To Its Team
Zomato recently collaborated with Femi9, a menstrual hygiene brand. The food delivery aggregator provided free sanitary napkins to its women partners in Tamil Nadu to encourage healthy menstrual hygiene. The Zomato-Femi9 collaboration was announced at the latter’s Femi9 Mega Celebration Event 2.
The event aimed to enhance the health and well-being of women in the gig workforce in India. This is done by providing them access to safe and eco-friendly menstrual products. Zomato onboarded female delivery partners in Tamil Nadu to receive eco-friendly menstrual products. The products came along with a leaflet titled “Be Cramp-ion”.
The Brand Has 2500 Active Female Delivery Partners
It also included healthy tips to educate them about menstrual products. Actor Nayanthara and her husband director Vignesh Shivan were also part of this mega event. Chief Sustainability Officer, Zomato, Anjalli Ravi Kumar stated that Zomato is committed to creating an inclusive and empowering environment for women in their delivery partner fleet. So, initiatives, like the one with Femi9, are part of their holistic approach to support and inspire women to join the gig workforce. So, this is yet another step to foster key collaborations with brands that address the specific needs of women.

Founder of Femi9 Dr. Gomathi revealed that they aim to make sure their sustainable sanitary napkins and other products reach every woman across India. Femi9’s collab with a Zomato was a great start for that. As of November 2024, Zomato had 2500 active female delivery partners working across over 250 cities in India. To offer them an inclusive and comfortable working experience, the organisation has instituted two paid period day rests per month, maternity cover, insurance plan and more.
