8 Amazing & Cheap Food Joints Near Mumbai Colleges That You Have To Try Once

What is college life if you haven’t shared a sandwich outside the institutional gates with your favourite people? And can you even say my college is/was the best, if it wasn’t for these amazing food joints right outside your college? The next food trail you take should be to these food joints outside Mumbai colleges.

1. Jay Sandwich, National’s College

Aah! I wasn’t even from National’s and I have happy memories of this place. That green chutney and the generous lathering of butter and the uncle who serves it is a potent combination indeed!

2. Anand Stall, Near Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal

This food joint located right opposite the SVKM campus in Vile Parle has about 59 different kinds of dosas. Nuff said! The Jini dosa is a crowd-pleaser.

"Jini Dosa" at Anand Stall, Vile Parle. If there is one thing that NM and Mithibai students are crazy about then its the dosas that they get at the street side stalls opposite to their colleges. Ask any student of these colleges and they are sure to say that the dosas there are the best ! Be it Shakti , Anand , Dheeraj or any other stall there , you get absolutely lip smacking dosas there ! Anand is our all time favourite spot for having dosas ! Loaded with lots of veggies , spices , butter and oodles of cheese , this Jini Dosa is something you cannot resist ! So now when you feel like having some amazing dosas , you know where you should head to! #thefoodiefriends#foodies#friends#mumbai#mumbaifoodblog#foodstagram#foodlovers#foodporn#food#foodpics#jinidosa#anandstall#vileparle#ananddosa#dosalovers#streetfood#mumbaistreetfood#southindiancuisine#indianfood#india#FoodTalkIndia#trellingfood#trellingmumbai#trellfood#foodiesofinstagram#foodblog#mumbaifoodbloggers#indianbloggers#thefoodiefriends#foodbloggers#foodielife

3. Raju Sandwich, K.C College and H.R college

Located outside K.C College and H.R college is this lovely joint that sells cheap but amazing food. It would be a crime to leave without tasting the beloved pasta cheese roll (INR 60).

4. I.S.H. (International Student Hostel), Jai Hind College

The hub for Jai Hind College students, located on C Rd, is one such place where you get quantity and quality at a reasonable rate. The Bhendi Masala (INR 70) is a must have. Another great thing to try is their delicious thali.

5. Ravi Rice, M.M.K College

This is a small Chinese joint located right outside M.M.K College in Bandra, while his main outlet is in Pali Naka, Bandra. As the name suggests, their specialty is the fried rice (INR 100). They serve both vegetarian and non-vegetarian Chinese dishes.

6. Sandwich Walla Uncle, St Xavier’s College

This one is my favouritest of the lot, just for the sake of sheer nostalgia. There’s one uncle who stands right outside the entrance gate. We aren’t talking about him. You need to walk to the back near the vehicle entrance and that’s where you’ll find this treasure trove. Have the Grilled Maggi Cheese Sandwich and I assure you every one of your stars will align!

7. Mayo Frankie, SIES College

This guy serves ’50 variety’ as his stall proudly says. Perfect for a quick bite, the frankies here pack a punch and a whole lot of butter and veggies. It gets two thumbs-up from us and all the college kids of course.

8. DP’s Fast Food, Ruia College

Fondly called DP’s by the students, Durga Parmeshwari stands tall and proud and has probably served more students than the college itself. The pav bhaji is a best-seller but you also get plenty of quirky stuff like the paani puri shots and fruit beer.
