Goa is that one destination in India which is almost on everyone’s travel list. The pristine beaches, water sports, scenic locations and the ever energetic and sparkling nightlife, no wonder why everyone loves Goa. So if you are lucky enough to be ticking it off from your list anytime soon, here are some things you should know and keep in mind as first time visitors to make your vacation memorable. 

1. Pick The Best Time

Make sure you visit Goa from mid-October to mid-March because it is the best time to be in Goa. You can grab a really good deal this time. Less crowd on the beaches or wherever you go, the shacks are open all the time and the weather is just pleasant and apt.

2. Explore Unpopular Beaches

Do not just go to the popular beaches that you have heard of. They might be very crowded and you might miss the serenity on the beaches because they are popular. Instead go to unexplored beaches like Butterfly beach, Hollant Beach, Galgibaga, etc.

3. Relish Goan Cuisine

What is the point of being in Goa and not trying its rich Goan cuisine? Goan cuisine is simply a huge mix and has a lot of influence from various cultures, thanks to years of colonisation. It is all a fusion of Portuguese, Arab, Brazilian, French, Konkan, African, Chinese, Malabar and Malaysian flavours.

4. Explore The World Heritage Sites

Old Goa is home to many World Heritage Sites built during the 16th and 17th century. Basilica of Bom Jesus church is a must visit and so are the other sites for they display such beauty of various architectural types.

5. Do Not Miss Spice Plantations

Did you know Goa is also famous for spice plantations and some of them are open for tourists to explore. After exploring it you might get a chance to indulge in a traditional Goan lunch buffet. Savoi Spice plantations and Sahakari spice plantations are some you can explore. 

6. Go For Two-Wheelers

When in Goa make sure to explore it on a two-wheeler. You can travel the city in your own space and also save some extra money while doing that. Sightseeing on two wheeler in Goa never goes wrong.

7. Indulge Into Adventure Sports

Do not explore only one side of Goa. Make sure to visit both North and South Goa because they are both worth it.

10. Take Care Of Your Skin

Make sure to take care of your skin, apply sunscreen and take proper care of your skin before heading out on the beaches of Goa to avoid sunburn.
