Unfortunately, 156 people were scammed of ₹5 lakhs while trying to buy discounted tickets for the Falguni Pathak show in Mumbai.
Man Claimed To Sell Discounted Tickets For Falguni Pathak Garba Show; Dupes People Of ₹5 Lakh
According to a report by The Indian Express, 156 people were duped of a whopping ₹5.14 lakhs while trying to purchase passes for Falguni Pathak’s garba night in Mumbai. Vishal Sharma a man claimed to be an authorized dealer of Falguni Pathak’s garba night show in Mumbai’s Borivali West. He claimed to sell the passes, originally costing ₹4500 for ₹3300.
A 20-year-old man from Kandivali, who runs a painting business, decided to buy the passes with two of his friends. Soon, word spread and 153 other people showed interest in purchasing those passes. The man and his friends collected money from others and informed Vishal Shah that they’d buy the passes from him.
As per The Indian Express, the trio reached New Link Road, Borivali where the man, Vishal Shah collected the money. And said he’d hand over the passes later. He gave them an address in Yogi Nagar and told them they would receive their passes there. The trio reached Yogi Nagar only to find out that Shah’s phone was switched off and they weren’t able to locate the building he sent them to.

Case Filed Against the Scammers
That’s when they headed to MHB Colony police station to file an FIR against that man. The police registered a case of criminal breach of trust and cheating against Vishal Shah and the unidentified source. They are now on the lookout for the perpetrators.

In order to prevent getting duped in such cases, always purchase your garba tickets from a verified source. Whether it’s the official website or the event-management portal, read the terms and conditions before purchasing tickets. Do not be fooled by middle men claiming to offer discounted tickets through shortcuts.
