And the best part is, along with breaking stereotypes, the 21-year-old Ann Mary Ansalen is also serving humanity by riding the bus for free. According to a report by The New Indian Express, the reason for doing so is the young woman’s passion for vehicles. Ann Mary, who is also a law student, has been on heavy duty on the Kakkanad-Perumpadappu route every Sunday for the last eight months. This Young Girl From Kochi Was Always Fond Of Vehicles
Ann Mary Ansalen, a law student of Ernakulam Law College Kochi, has broken numerous stereotypes at the young age of 21. The daughter of contractor P G Ansalen and Palakkad additional district judge Smitha George, Ann always had a knack for vehicles. And you would be pleasantly surprised to know that it was during her 10th standard that she started to learn to ride her father’s Bullet. She secured a two-wheeler and four-wheeler license at the age of 18 and finally on her 21st birthday, she joined classes to learn heavy driving and soon secured a license. That marked the beginning of Ann riding the private bus Hey Day on Sundays for free. “I was crazy about large and heavy vehicles. Lorries, trucks, buses, you name it. That is why I drive the bus for free,” she revealed to The New Indian Express.
Ann’s Source Of Courage And The Timings Of Her Bus Service
It was Ann’s grandmother Maryamma who knew about her love for vehicles and supported her during her childhood. Currently, Ann has the support of her whole family. Ann also revealed that a neighbor and driver named Sarath had initially taught her a lot about driving and encouraged her to move forward in her brave endeavor.
As for her bus timings, Ann’s bus service begins at 6:30 am from Vathuruthi and ends at 7 pm every Sunday. Ann is also the owner of a classic bullet and loves going on rides on other weekdays. Currently, the young girl from Kochi is busy learning to drive a JCB and she wants to accomplish driving Containers before turning 22. The 21-year-old earlier faced a lot of criticism but now has the support of all her passengers and co-drivers. And we are sure, all of India is super proud of this young girl for her bravery and selflessness!
