On Sunday, during Easter service,  a number of churches and hotel chains were attacked in Sri Lanka leaving many dead.

What Happened?

At least 290 people lost their lives and hundreds more were injured in a horrific series of bomb explosions that took over several churches and hotel chains in Sri Lanka.

The blasts occurred around 8:45 a.m. on Sunday just as people came together for Easter service. They hit the churches of Batticaloa, Negombo and Columbo.

What’s More?

Even hotels like the Shangri La fell victim to these blasts, others being Kingsbury Hotel and Cinnamon Grand.

No responsibility has been claimed by anyone for the attacks yet.  The Sri Lankan government has also temporarily shut down social media and declared a curfew.
