Saudi Arabia has a dramatic landscape and rich cultural heritage that makes it worth visiting for tourists from around the world. However, recent data compiled by YouGov, which is based on surveys conducted across 17 international markets showcases that half of the global respondents have shown no change in their perception of while the remaining show a divided view. It’s worth mentioning that Indians, Indonesians, and Hongkongers have increasingly become more positive towards the nation. Here’s more about this development.

For travellers hailing from India, Indonesia and Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia has increasingly become a more positive destination that they wish to explore. Yes, the survey revealed data, which showed 42% of Indians, 37% of Indonesians, and 31% of Hong Kong residents showed a more positive outlook towards Saudi Arabia as a destination for travel. Not to mention, 54% of the UAE residents held the strongest positive sentiment towards the kingdom. While most Westerners have not changed their views about Saudi Arabia. Yes, 70% of Spaniards, 61% of Italians, 59% of Americans, and 57% of Danes and Britons have showcased that their perception has remained the same for the past 12 months.

The Kingdom Continues To Heavily Invest In Tourism Infrastructure

While globally the opinions on travelling to Saudi Arabia remain divided, half of them state that they are more likely to travel to Saudi Arabia for leisure purposes. In fact, residents in the UAE have strongly expressed their interest in travelling to the kingdom for both leisure and business purposes. Indians and Indonesians have also shown a significant interest in travelling to the kingdom for leisurely purposes.

This positive outlook has been earned with the kingdom heavily investing in tourism infrastructure. Creating a more appealing environment for international tourists, YouGov data also reveals that cultural tourism is a top factor that has influenced future visits for Saudi Arabia. Luxury gateways, religious tourism, and adventure activities are other deciding factors that have influenced future visits to Saudi Arabia. With the country’s recent investments in sports and infrastructure, it has certainly generated interest among one in 10 global consumers, which is about 8%.

In fact, Hong Kong has seen a keen interest with 23% considering it a key attraction.
