1. Hirni Falls

This waterfall got its name because it resembles a sketch of a wild deer as it cascades down from a height. This breathtaking waterfall is hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the city in the midst of dense forest foliage. The place offers a totally tranquil and relaxing vibe with lush, dense forests and the sound of the water falling. You can enjoy a panoramic view of the city from the head of the falls.

2. Hundru Falls

This mighty waterfall, Hundru Falls, falls from a height of 98 meters. It is the 34th-highest waterfall in India. The pure and crystal-clear waterfalls on the black mountain ridges of basalt rocks. This sight is simply breathtaking. It is known as the most beautiful waterfall you will find in Jharkhand. Erosions have led to different formations of rocks, which simply add to their beauty.

3. Dassam Falls

Dassam Falls cascades from a height of 144 feet and is a tributary of the Subarnarekha River. The serenity and calmness that this place offers are simply unmatched. The name was coined using the Mundari word ‘Da-sang,’ which means ‘the act of pouring water.’ To reach this place, you have to climb a flight of stairs, but it is all worth it.

4. Rajrappa Waterfalls

This Rajrappa waterfall is one of the most mesmerising waterfalls in Ranchi. The waterfall is surrounded by lush, dense forests. The silvery cascading water falls from a height of 32 metres. The Bhairavi, or Bhera, the river merges into the Damodar river after plunging from a height. The waterfall is near the Rajrappa temple, which is known to be the place where goddess Sati’s head fell.

5. Jonha Waterfalls 

Jonha waterfalls in Ranchi are at the confluence of the Ganga and Raru rivers. The waterfall gushes down from a height of 45 metres. To reach this magical waterfall, you will have to walk over 722 steps downhill. Yes, it can be a bit tiring, but it is also very adventurous. This beautiful waterfall is also known as Gautamdhara Falls. A Buddhist shrine is nestled near the waterfall, hence the name.
