In a heartwarming Insta post, Sara Ali Khan shared a special video and a caption, reminiscing about shooting her debut film, Kedarnath. Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, starring Sara Ali Khan as Mukku and Sushant Singh Rajput as Mansoor, this film is a tale about how love is put to test amid nature’s wrath in India’s revered pilgrimage spot, Kedarnath.

Sara Ali Khan writes about her fond memories while shooting for Kedarnath. The taste of hot, perfectly spiced Maggi still lingers in her mouth. The smell of wet soil, the pre-dawn call times and the taste of cold rain that would send shivers down her spine still feel as fresh as yesterday. Sara Ali Khan remembers her thumping heartbeat when her director said, “roll camera”. She even recalls fond memories of curiously asking questions to Sushant so she could perform better. Sara Ali Khan credits his selfless and unconditional help and support during the shoot.

The snowcapped mountains of Kedarnath touched the traveller’s soul. She still remembers the first sun rays hitting her tired, cold face during pack up. Sara Ali Khan was often left awestruck to witness rainbows reflecting magically against the snowcapped mountains. Her heart was filled with pride when years ago she first witnessed her name on the silver screen. She thanked her director Abhishek Kapoor and writer, Kanika Dhillon for giving her Mukku. Most importantly, she thanked the Kedarnath (the film and the pilgrimage spot) for making her who she is today. She signs off her Insta post with a promise to visit in April.

There was a bench there where the actor sat in between shots and couldn’t help but shiver in the cold. “Woh hai Ameena ka ghar”, she says, pointing at a small house nestled atop. She goes on to show the point where a set was built for the film. Interacting with local women, seated next to her, Sara Ali Khan talks about a small shop which she frequented for tea and snacks.
