Interestingly, Southeast Asia has emerged as the top pick for Indian travellers this season.
Bali Takes The Crown As The Most Romantic Getaway This Valentine’s Day
According to a new report by Pickyourtrail, a leading international travel and holiday brand, Indian couples are swapping roses for runways this Valentine’s Day! They noted that quick holidays and relaxed surprise getaways are a major hit among lovebirds this season.
Southeast Asia is the top pick for Indian travellers as more than 50% are choosing destinations like Bali, Maldives, Thailand, and Vietnam for a romantic escape. This is mainly due to the rise in affordable luxury stays, seamless visa policies, and short-haul flight options to these countries. Pickyourtrail noted that couples are prioritising beachfront villas, private pools, and floating breakfasts to turn their romantic getaways into dreamy experiences this Valentine’s Day.
Bali has emerged as the most romantic getaway with about 21% of travellers heading to Bali. Couples are choosing Ubud, Kuta, Seminyak, and Nusa Dua to experience Bali’s beach vibes, lush landscapes, and romantic hideaways. Besides the Southeast Asia countries, Europe and Dubai follow as popular alternatives for those seeking luxury and adventure.

How Much Are Couples Spending On Romantic Escapes?
Honeymooners are leading this travel surge as almost 80% of Valentine’s Day travellers are honeymooners, Pickyourtrail noted. Couples are combining their wedding celebrations with travel and are opting for extended honeymoons that start right after their big day.
They are also willing to splurge with an average spend per couple to Bali being ₹1.4 lakhs, for Malé in Maldives being ₹2.5 lakhs, and ₹1.6 lakhs for Vietnam. Couples are planning a 4-5 day stay and are opting for all-inclusive packages, private transfers, and curated romantic experiences while planning their Valentine’s Day getaway.
Delhi is leading the Valentine’s Day romantic jet-setters list, followed closely by Chennai and Bangalore. Pickyourtrail found that metro travellers are looking for overwater villas, five-star resorts, and exclusive couple experiences while planning romantic getaways this Valentine’s Day.
