On the website, the Skypark by AJ Hackett informs participants opting for bungee jumping at Macau Tower to reveal any ongoing medical conditions like epilepsy, high blood pressure, asthma, physical disabilities, asthma and neurological conditions.
This company that runs bungee jumping at Macau Tower advises participants to disclose medical concerns to the crew like heart issues, diabetes, hypertension and other surgical procedures before opting for the adventure sport. Each jump from the Macau Tower costs $359 (₹29,93) per participant. Apart from bungee jumping, tourists also head here for the Skywalk experience on a platform around Macadu Tower. Also, they can climb right up the summit of this tower’s mast at 338 m.
What Health Issues Can You Face & What Should You Keep In Mind?
According to the American HealthCare Academy, people may face altitude sickness during a bungee jump. This can make the jumper feel altitude sickness which can cause nausea, dizziness and headaches. Also, the website goes on to add that if a person experiences chest pain and other health issues during the bungee jump then they should seek medical attention instantly.
Another issue which can occur due to bungee jumping is if the cord tugs a person upwards with sudden force. The extreme force and the dangling of the cord can injure one’s spine, neck, eyes and back. If it’s severe enough, it can cause death.
So, what can you do to keep yourself healthy before going bungee jumping? Firstly, don’t go bungee jumping on a heavy stomach. Eat light before you opt for this adventure sport, so you don’t end up puking mid-air. Next, disclose all previous health issues to your instructor. Then, wear comfortable clothing and avoid fabric that flaps around. Then, trust your instructor, and educate yourself about the dos and don’ts before taking the plunge. Of course, try not to stress out and just enjoy the ride.
