When you have long weekends, chances are that you want to take a holiday with your loved ones to the nearest destination. So, if you happen to be someone who lives in Sharjah, you know that Muscat is a great option to consider on such long weekends. And now, a new bus service will be connecting the two cities! Yes, the public transport company Mwasalat announced that it will be launching a new bus service between UAE and Oman, which will connect Sharjah and Muscat. Here’s all about it.

Mwasalat To Launch Sharjah-Muscat Bus

Mwasalat is Oman’s national transport company, which recently signed an agreement with Sharjah‘s Road & Transport Authority. As a result, according to a report by Khaleej Times, it was revealed that now a new bus service will be introduced between the two cities from February 27, Tuesday onwards. it’s worth noting that there will be four trips, which means two each will ply from Sharjah and Muscat. Moreover, these services will be operational via Shinas.

What About The Baggage & Cost?

In case you’re wondering, passengers will be allowed to carry a baggage of up to 23 kg for check-in and 7 kg of hand baggage will be allowed. Coming to the fares, these will be priced at OMR10 or AED95.40 (approx) and OMR29 or AED276 (OMR). It should be noted that the first bus will depart at 6:30 AM from Al Jubail Bus Station and reach the Azaiba Bus Station at 2:30 PM while the second bus will depart from Sharjah at 4 PM and reach Muscat at 11:50 PM. Similarly, the bus from Muscat will depart at 6:30 AM and reach Sharjah at 3:40 PM while the second one will leave at 4 PM and reach a bus station at 1:10 AM.

So, once the service begins you can plan your much-needed weekend getaway, as there are several long weekends expected to fall this year.
