India will soon have a completely functional new Parliament building and it will be massive with everything glory and grandeur. Currently, the building is being constructed in New Delhi, which falls under the Central Vista Redevelopment Project of India. The new Parliament building will be decked up with about 5,000 art pieces representing India’s centuries and millennium-old civilisation. Read on to know the deets of this grand project!

Built-in a humongous area of about 65,000 square metre, the building is getting constructed with many intricacies and great features. Let’s take a look at what are being included in the building.

  • The new parliament building is getting developed adjacent to the present Parliament.
  • It has a total of 6 entrances and every entrance represents statues of auspicious animals. These animals on the entrances have been selected for their importance in the history of the country, vaastu shastra, and many more aspects such as intelligence, power, and victory.
  • One of the much-talked-about additions to the new Parliament is the 5,000 art pieces. These pieces of art signify the principles of Sanatan parampara and vaastu shastra. From metal pieces to paintings, wall panels, and more are getting added here.

  • The new parliament is being built in the shape of a triangle. The reason behind constructing in a triangular shape is to utilise the entire area in the best way possible.
  • If you wonder, what will be the functioning of the existing parliament building, both buildings will be working together and follow the operations systematically and in a coherent and well-organised manner.
  • The Lok Sabha Hall and Rajya Sabha Hall have more capacity than before.
  • The Lok Sabha Hall comes with 888 seats. This hall has been decked up with the theme of the national bird, the peacock.
  • Built on the theme of the national flower, the lotus, the Rajya Sabha Hall has a capacity of up to 384 seats.
