And if this holds true for you, then you will be pleased to know that the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair has finally returned for its 34th edition. Yes, this event is taking place until May 5th and is happening under the theme. Knowledge Illuminates Our Community. Here’s all you need to know about the ongoing event in Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi International Book Fair Begins

The Abu Dhabi International Book Fair has returned for its 34th edition, and this is being organised by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre. Taking place at the ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, this edition sees the Culture of the Caribbean Basin as the Guest of Honour. Not to mention, this time the Focus Personality is Ibn Sina and the Book of the World is One Thousand and One Nights. From local to international publishing houses stationed at the event, it is truly a comprehensive cultural exhibition.

2000+ Events Expected At ADIBF

As revealed in a report by the Abu Dhabi Media Office, it will be hosting more than 2,000 events. A part of this slew of comprehensive events is the first-ever Poetry Majlis. In fact, the Digitising Creativity Conference is also happening for the first time. It’s worth mentioning that 1,400 publishing houses are participating from 96 countries.

A Notable Turnout Expected

With a notable turnout, it is truly going to be a key destination for authors to launch and promote new releases. As it happens, the theme of the year for the book fair also aligns with the Year of Community, which has been declared for 2025 by the UAE president. Talking about the cultural programmes, they include a variety of events that come under the fields of literature, translation, arts, and cultural discussions. You can also expect debates, workshops, dialogues, and lectures by renowned authors and writers.

There’s also Black Box Cinema, where visitors can catch screenings of short Arabic films. Moreover, the Children and Youth Programme also remains a top priority. With the event expected to welcome a record visitors, it’s truly something that you wouldn’t want to miss.
