In a concerning matter, India’s Covid-19 active cases have touched 1 lakh. While the active Covid-19 cases have jumped to 99,602, the death toll has reached 5,25,077. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reported that India has recorded 14,506 Covid-19 cases in 24 hours with 11,574 recoveries and 30 deaths. India Witnesses 1 Lakh Active Covid-19 Cases
Minister of Health & Family Affairs reported on their website that 197.46 crore vaccine doses have been administered across the nation in the vaccination drive. While India’s current caseload stands at 99,602, the active cases are 0.23 per cent with a fine recovery rate of 98.56 percent. The daily Covid-19 positivity rate is at 3.35 per cent while the weekly positivity rate is at 3.30 per cent. In the last 24 hours, 4,33,659 Covid-19 tests have been conducted across the nation.

Why Are Covid-19 Cases On The Rise?
With this data in mind, the question stands, is India heading to a 4th Covid-19 wave? According to a report by India.com, doctors reveal that the peak in Covid-19 cases is due to newer Omicron strains, waving immunity and breakthrough infections among those who are vaccinated. Sources revealed to Zee News India that samples of Covid-19 from Delhi, witnessing a massive surge in cases have been sent for genome testing. And Omicron variants have been spotted. So, it’s time to mask up, take booster shots and maintain social distancing.
