Adventure Sports In Rishikesh Like Flying Fox And Bungee Jumping Resume After 6 Months

In September, Uttarakhand had removed the mandate of producing a COVID-19 negative certificate for entering the state. The government was also giving ₹1000 off on hotel bookings to boost tourism. And now the state has permitted to restart inter-state bus operations too. Bungee Jumping, River Rafting, Giant Swing And More Resumes In Rishikesh

The operators of adventure activities like flying fox, giant swing and bungee jumping in Rishikesh have started taking bookings following the state’s Unlock-5 guidelines. Reportedly, the number of tourists booking the tickets were more than expected after reopening the activities on October 2. According to HT reports, Devendra Gosain of Jumpin Heights informed that they got 30 bookings for bungee jumping on the very first day. Gosain said, “We had thought that if we get 10 bookings on Friday it will be enough for us considering the present situation in the pandemic. However, till Friday evening we got 30 people enjoying the bungee jumping sport. We are happy with the start.” Gosain also added that many people are not yet aware of the resumption of adventure sports in Rishikesh. Uttarakhand has also planned to offer free of cost adventure sports training at Tehri Lake.

The Sports Operators Are Following The Norms Of Safety And Social Distancing

The adventure sports operators in Rishikesh are now adhering to the protocols of safety and social distancing. They are sanitising all the equipment, including safety harnesses. The deputy director of  Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board said, “We have issued the directions to the operators to follow all the required Covid-19 precautions while restarting adventure sports like bungee jumping and rafting which are a great attraction in Rishikesh.” Gangwar added, “Like a few days ago, water rafting was also restarted and is getting good response from the visitors, we are hopeful for these aforementioned adventure sports also.”
