If you pass by the Police Bazaar road or were a visitor to Shillong in recent years, we are sure you must have noticed an unfinished building standing tall in the middle of Shilong’s shopping hub. As for the millennials, we’ve seen this building, now Crowborough Hotel, never complete. Crowborough Hotel In Shillong To Finally Open Doors

With tons of stories spun around this hotel, it had faced delays due to tons of reasons. One of them being court disputes and other legal issues which led to the delay in this project. The construction of this building started way back on 1986, but could never be finished until this year. For the Shillongites, this hotel had become an iconic never-ending structure. On Wednesday, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma announced that Crowborough is finally ready to host guests from across the world .

All That You Need To Know About The Crowborough Hotel

This iconic hotel will be managed under the Vivanta brand, therefore, a lot of luxurious and world class amenities can be expected at this hotel. The Crowborough Hotel will have up to 100 rooms. CM Sangma also informed that the Marriot group has invested in the hotel. Apart from this, the state aims to open up over 2,000 rooms – currently under pipeline. With so much being done, Shillong is also gearing up for many tourism festivals. The popular, Cherry Blossom Festival which is a favourite among the tourists in India has announced its dates recently. The mega festival is scheduled to be held from November 24 to 26, 2022 at Shillong.
