The Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) joined hands to boost tourism in the state’s border villages and develop these offbeat and remote areas. On January 1, UTDB and ITBP signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU).

It is a strategic move to expand helicopter services in border regions. Travellers will get access to ITBP’s helipads to visit different places located in remote areas that are difficult to travel to via roads. According to a report by CNBC TV18, devotees can avoid tough road journeys and use these new facilities to visit sacred temples such as Adi Kailash, Om Parvat, and Timmarsain Mahadev.
