If you have been to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, I am sure you must have visited the swanky Bogie Wogie Restaurants On Wheels. Soon this amazing concept will be seen at Borivali and Andheri stations. Yes, you read that right. Old coaches of trains will now be converted into restaurants and this will be the first one in Western Railway’s (WR) Mumbai division.
Borivali And Andheri Stations Will Get Restaurants On Wheels
Soon, the commuters on the suburban stations of Andheri and Borivali will soon have a new spot to visit, Restaurant On Wheels. These will be the first ones in the Mumbai suburban division’s Western Railways.
The restaurant in Andheri will be set up at Gate no. 10 and the one that will be set up in Borivali will be in the east at the Virar side of the station (north-end). Sumit Thakur, Western Railway Chief Public Relations Officer said that Restaurant On Wheels with rail coaches have been finalised now. (as per reported by Mid-Day).
An old coach is modified and mounted on the tracks that provide a completely different fine-dining experience. The restaurant’s interior is styled so that customers can appreciate the experience of eating in a themed environment.

Expect A Variety Of Cuisines
Unserviceable rail coaches are used for setting up this theme-based restaurant On Wheels. The restaurant is open to both the public and passengers. You can expect continental, pan-Indian cuisine as well as many other cuisines in these restaurants.
It is the responsibility of the licensee to maintain the surroundings of the restaurant at their own cost. They have to comply with the various statutory laws and the Food Adulteration Act.
With the safety aspect in mind, they must have portable fire extinguishers installed in the restaurant. Every staff working in the restaurant must know how to operate this equipment. The validity also has to be checked regularly.
