Meanwhile, a street food stall in Ahmedabad recently introduced its customers to Kadhi Wali Pani Puri. This is nothing but pani puri filled with hot Gujarati kadhi. Kadhi Wali Pani Puri In Ahmedabad Is Intriguing!
Food vlogger, Harshit (@foodiepopcorn) took to his Instagram account to share a video of Ahmedabad’s Kadhi wali Pani Puri. In the video, you can see a street food vendor mixing a vessel full of hot Gujarati kadhi, a thick soup made of gram flour and curd. The vendor first fills a puri with channa and then adds crispy boondi to it.

Next, the vendor goes on to take a spoonful of hot kadhi and adds it to the puri. And there you have it! Kadhi wali Pani Puri is ready! The steaming hot Gujarati kadhi adds a garam twist to pani puri. If you’re wondering if this is a monsoon-approved snack, let’s contemplate. Firstly, pani puri is often avoided during the monsoon season as the cold spiced pani and crispy dry puri may cause throat irritations and cold.
Kadhi-chawal is often a much-loved dish during the monsoon season as the hot kadhi helps keep the body warm in the chilly weather. Netizens weren’t pleased with the tampering of pani puri. One person asked for justice for the beloved street food snack. Another pleaded with the street food joint to spare pani puri. Another foodie informed that kadhi is just one of the many unusual flavours available, there’s also a Rajwadi chaas.
