First Look Of The Ahmedabad–Mumbai Bullet Train
Over the years, we were only getting updates about the development of the proposed bullet train between Ahmedabad and Mumbai. But now, it looks like we’re finally nearing completion as the first look of this train was shown at the Ministry of Railways in New Delhi. As per India Today, a large picture of the train has been installed at Gate Number 4 of the ministry building. The image gives people a clear idea of how the train will look.
The train has a very sleek and modern design. It features an orange section at the top, followed by black on the lower part. Below that, there is again an orange stripe and a white base, creating a clean and stylish colour combination.
When Will The Train Begin Operations?
The Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail corridor will begin operations on August 15, 2027. As per India Today, once it becomes functional, the train will cut travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad to around two hours. According to updates shared by the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited, a major development has taken place in Mumbai’s Vikhroli area in the eastern suburbs.
Engineers have installed a very large cutterhead measuring 13.6 metres in diameter and weighing about 350 tonnes. This installation marks an important final step in assembling the main part of the Tunnel Boring Machine, which will dig the tunnel for the bullet train route.
