Air Asia, which is now known as AIX Connect, recently faced quite a bit of flak for delaying a flight for close to 14 hours. As many as 160 passengers were left stranded at the Pune Airport overnight because no proper services were available.

Passengers stated that their stay was extremely uncomfortable and they were greatly distressed by this delay. According to an article recently published by the Times of India, many passengers stated that the airline failed to provide sufficient services and only made arrangements for a few passengers.

A passenger told TOI that the flight was initially set to take off at 5:20 PM. The passengers received several messages stating that it was first delayed to 6:10 PM, then 7:00 PM and finally, 8:00 PM. The flight actually took off the next day at 7:00 AM.

Because the passengers received the notification that the flight would take off at 8:00 PM, many passengers reached the airport at 6:00 PM. However, the flight didn’t start boarding even by 9:00 PM. This left the passengers upset because they were aware that Lucknow Airport wouldn’t be operational at night.

As of now, the Lucknow Airport isn’t operational for flights from 9:30 PM to 6:00 AM due to infrastructure maintenance. The airline has expressed its regret about the inconvenience caused and has offered passengers a full refund as well as free rescheduling.
