According to NDTV, an incoming Air Canada Express flight collided with a fire truck on Runway 4 at New York’s LaGuardia Airport. The CRJ-900 aircraft collided with a Port Authority of New York and New Jersey ground vehicle. As per the flight-tracking website FlightRadar24, the airport has been temporarily shut down following the runway accident.
Several visuals circulating on social media show the aircraft’s nose severely damaged and tilted at nearly a 45-degree angle after the collision. As per a Deccan Herald report, the Bombardier CRJ-900 plane was carrying around 100 passengers, many of whom are believed to have sustained injuries.
A now-viral clip on social media captured the LaGuardia ATC shouting in panic, “Truck one and company, crossing four at D. Frontier 4195, just stop there please. Stop, stop, stop. Truck one, stop. Delta 2603, go around the runway.”

Several Injured, Fatalities Feared
The Air Canada Express flight collided with a fire truck at New York’s LaGuardia Airport at 11:38 PM (local time). According to an update by NCB, the plane’s pilot and co-pilot were also seriously injured. Several firefighters sustained severe injuries in the accident, while a sergeant and an officer on the fire truck suffered broken limbs and are currently in stable condition at a hospital.
As of now, all arriving planes at LaGuardia Airport have either been diverted to other airports or returned to their point of origin, as the airport is likely to be shut until 6 PM (GMT).
