Air France Leaves Around 100 Indian Passengers Stranded At Paris’s Charles De Gaulle Airport

An incident took place with the passengers of an Air France flight that was flying from Mumbai (India) to Toronto (Canada). Around 100 Indian travellers have been stranded at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris for more than 50 hours. And Air France’s treatment towards them has drawn harsh criticism. Here are the details of what exactly happened with the passengers.

Air France Left Indian Passengers Stranded In Paris!

The Air France-217 passengers from Mumbai who arrived in Paris at 1.30 p.m. (IST) on June 23 have experienced turmoil and abuse, and attempts to film the incident have been thwarted. Those passengers were supposed to land in Toronto (Canada) but were left stranded by Air France at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris.

A journalist, Noopur Tiwari, shared a tweet thread stating the horrifying details faced by Indian passengers. According to her, around 100 passengers were stranded for more than 24 hours. Additionally, when they attempted to record the chaos and harassment they were experiencing, they were being hectored. Due to no Schengen visa, they weren’t able to leave!

She further tweeted that passengers were made to sleep on evacuation stretchers without any covers. They were given a 15€ voucher for 1 meal! They were even threatened that Air France won’t be responsible for their belongings if they boarded another flight.

Situation At The Airport

Some travellers had received boarding permits with layovers in nations where they needed visas in order to leave the airport and stay in a hotel. A few passengers claimed that after booking a room at the airport for 270 euros in advance, they were moved to an area without any accommodations. They needed information regarding planes yet were afraid to go.

She shared the updated situation on her Twitter handle and stated that some travellers received tickets while others were forced to spend a third night under the same circumstances. An identical situation is being experienced by a new group of Indian travellers who have just arrived from JFK on another flight.

She also pointed out that the airline authorities have not bothered to acknowledge the condition of the passengers. It appears that this occurs regularly.

Because passengers typically are too terrified or fatigued to contact the media for fear of harassment, no one hears about it.
