It was just a couple of days back when Air India Express started to make headlines for the shocking news of the mass leave of the cabin crew. According to reports, over 100 crew members took sick leave. This surprising news was followed by the airline firing about 30 employees at once. All these led to flight delays, cancellations, and major chaos. Now, things are resolving as employees are ready to return back to work.

It was indeed a few days of intense chaos, flight schedule disruptions, inconveniences, and so many unexpected turn of events for the airline. However, it looks like the situation is about to improve with normalcy in the routine of flight services as well. Recently, there was a conciliation meeting between the management and the Employees Union at the office of the Chief Labour Commissioner. Following the agreement, Air India Express took the decision to reinstate cabin crew members and staff who were fired on May 8, according to a report by Moneycontrol.

Every staff who took sick leave a few days ago is joining the workplace with immediate effect. All have agreed to resume working on their responsibilities. With the entire crew in full action and joining the work floor, the hopes for smooth flight operations are rising as well. It is now expected that the operations will soon return to normalcy within the next 2-3 days.

After the dispute ended, Air India Express released a statement sharing how they felt pleased with the progress noticed at the conciliation meeting. Welcoming employees and colleagues back to work will now help them restore flight schedules quickly and fulfill all their commitments. The airline also apologised for the passengers facing inconvenience due to “these unintended disruptions”.

The shortage of cabin crew and employees created a terrible situation for the airline and they had to cancel many flights. Now, with the staff resuming their work, the operations are likely to take place according to schedules. Still, a couple of days are needed for the services to improve in the best way possible.

Air India Express asked passengers to check the flight status before travelling to the airport. They can either reschedule or opt for a full refund if the flight gets delayed by more than 3 hours or cancelled. To take any of these actions, people can either contact the airline on WhatsApp (+91 6360012345) or check the official website airindiaexpress.com.
