Al Hosn App Down, Abu Dhabi Temporarily Suspends App Requirements

Abu Dhabi recently made the use of a green pass on the Al Hosn App mandatory for visiting malls, parks, and other public places. The update came into effect on June 15- however, since then, some users have been complaining about the issue with the app. And now, Abu Dhabi’s movement requirements have been put on hold due to the fault in the app. Read on to know more about it.

Abu Dhabi Has Directed The Hotels To Not Check Guest’s Status On Al Hosn App

On Friday, June 18, the Department of Culture and Tourism, Abu Dhabi, issued an advisory to hotel managers stating: with immediate effect disregard circular 19, which outlines the green pass protocol until further notice. It means that hotels no longer required to check guests’ Al Hosn app status. All hotels were asked to go back to operations as per previous covid-19 measures.

Is There An Issue With Al Hosn App?

Well, the UAE-based app is facing some issue and about this Abu Dhabi Media Office in a statement stated:

“Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee has reviewed the causes of technical issues faced by some Alhosn app users, resulting from a surge in new subscriptions, and has overseen efforts by the app’s team to restore the service to all users as quickly as possible.”

How Long Will It Take For The Al Hosn App To Repair?

It’s not yet clear how long it takes for the software to be back, but for now, anyone planning to cross the border to enter Abu Dhabi will have to go back to the previous system of showing an SMS with proof of PCR test is back in place for now.
