Many devotees have been waiting for the Amarnath Yatra 2026, and now it is all set to begin in just a few days. The yatra will start on July 3 and continue until August 28. During this period, thousands of pilgrims travel to Jammu & Kashmir to seek blessings at the sacred Amarnath Cave. Ahead of the pilgrimage, the Jammu & Kashmir Police has issued a travel advisory. J&K Police Issues Travel Advisory For Amarnath Yatra Travellers

Before the Amarnath Yatra begins, J&K Police issued a travel advisory mentioning traffic restrictions and cut-off timings that pilgrims, tourists and local travellers must follow. As per Kashmir Life, According to the advisory, traffic moving from Kashmir towards Jammu will not be allowed to cross the Navyug Tunnel before 11:30 AM. Similarly, vehicles travelling from Jammu towards Kashmir cannot cross the tunnel after 3 PM. 

Authorities have also fixed specific cut-off timings at different points across the Kashmir Valley. Vehicles travelling from Mir Bazar towards Srinagar and Anantnag must pass before 4 PM. Those heading towards the Navyug Tunnel from the same point must cross before 5 PM.

What Are The Other Travel Restrictions? 

In Srinagar, vehicles leaving Panthachowk for Ganderbal and Baramulla must cross before 3 PM. Kashmir Life reported that the same 3 PM deadline applies to traffic travelling towards Anantnag.

At Shadipora in Sumbal, vehicles moving towards Manigam and North Kashmir must cross before 3:30 PM. Traffic coming from Manigam towards Srinagar has a cut-off time of 1 PM. Vehicles travelling from Manigam to Baltal can move until 5 PM, while those heading towards Srinagar and North Kashmir must cross before noon. The police have advised pilgrims and tourists to plan their journeys carefully and start early to avoid delays.
