Amarnath Yatra Pilgrims Advised To Carry Aadhar Card Or Any Biometric Verified Government ID

With only one day to go before Amarnath Yatra begins, pilgrims who undertake this holy journey have been asked to carry their Aadhar Cards or any other biometric verified ID cards. Lakhs of Shiva devotees will embark on the Amarnath Yatra for darshan at the holy shrine at the upper reached of the Himalayas. It is the first Amarnath Yatra being held after a halt of 3 years, firstly due to the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and later the pandemic. To ease the pilgrimage of Amarnath Yatra, helicopter services have also been introduced in Srinagar, which will transport devotees directly to Panchtarni.

Amarnath Yatra Pilgrims To Carry Aadhar Cards, Tagged With RFID

The pilgrims have been asked to carry their biometric verified cards before the initiation of the Yatra. Registrations have also begun as the journey is to commence tomorrow. Apart from this, pilgrims have been tagged with RFID to track their movements and to prevent any untoward incidents. Reports suggest that the animals have also been given RFID tags. Authorities said the RFID tagging would ensure they are prepared in advance and can even prevent stampede-like situations.
