Amid the soaring temperatures, IMD has forecasted a respite in several Indian states. According to their X (formerly Twitter) posts, IMD has predicted rainfall and even thunderstorms in various parts of India which is likely to bring down the heat in these regions. As per their forecast, light rainfall and thunderstorms are expected in the Northeastern States like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland, and Manipur along with Jammu and Kashmir today.

There is also a prediction of rainfall and lighting in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra. Also, intermittent rain with thunderstorms and hail lashed several parts of Himachal Pradesh on Sunday morning and is likely to continue till tomorrow. This comes after the state received fresh snowfall on Saturday. This has caused the temperature to go down significantly in Himachal Pradesh. It also led to the closure of around 60 roads like Atal Tunnel-Rohtang Pass, Gramphu-Losar, and Darcha-Sarchu.

Seeing this, IMD predicted an ‘orange warning’ for heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in Himachal Pradesh. They have forecasted hail and gusty winds at isolated places on Monday and Tuesday as well.

They have further mentioned that these conditions are likely to get more severe. The maximum temperature in Bengal and Odisha will also rise due to the prevailing hot and humid conditions.
