Here’s Everything You Need To Know About This 100+ Years Old Mandal

Chinchpokli Cha Chintamani was established in 1920 by a group of 20 to 25 men, who later went on to establish the Chinchpokli Sarvajanik Utsav Mandal. The mandal was established in line with Lokmanya Tilak’s ideology of uniting people and bringing together residents.

As per The Hindu report, in its initial year, Chintamani covered the area from Byculla to Sewri. The idol size during this time was about two or three-foot-tall. Over the years, the size and grandeur of this mandal grew. It is now one of Mumbai’s oldest sarvajanik Ganesh mandals. And, for more than 100 years, this mandal has held a special place in the hearts of Mumbaikars. During the Ganeshotsav, more than 5,000 volunteers take part in the celebrations to ensure its smooth running.
