As an ardent cricket fan, I had major FOMO last evening. As an ardent cricket fan, I was on cloud nine seeing Rohit Sharma & Co. celebrating like young boys last evening. What an enthralling experience it was to watch the Men in Blue enjoying their T20 World Cup victory on our screens. We can only imagine how the crowd at Marine Drive and Wankhede Stadium witnessed the glory of our nation’s pride. Anand Mahindra is one of the 1.5+ billion Indians who was impressed seeing the victory parade in Mumbai. Also, he gave a special name to the iconic Marine Drive.

Nothing describes Indians’ love for cricket better than this picture.
It’s no longer the Queen’s Necklace in Mumbai.

The Indian T20I cricket team hopped on an open bus for a historical victory parade at Marine Drive. The roads were jam-packed with lakhs of fans joyfully celebrating and waiting for the Men in Blue to arrive. Though our boys reached the spot late, the enthusiasm of the fans did not take a dip despite the long wait.
Mumbaikars constantly complain about crammed trains, but no one minded getting pushed in that crazy sea of cricket fans on Thursday. How wonderful all of us felt to witness Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli finally lift the much-awaited T20 World Cup trophy! India has waited to see Ro-Ko like this for months, for years. And now, we have only appreciation and love for them and their contribution to the team.
Anand Mahindra shared a glimpse from Thursday evening showcasing the humongous number of fans thronging at Marine Drive. The specially decked-up bus for the champions looked too small amid the spectacular gathering. Marine Drive is known as the Queen’s Necklace for the bright street lights looking like shiny pearls of a necklace. The Mahindra and Mahindra Chairperson reacted to the crowd by naming this iconic location “Mumbai’s JAADU KI JHAPPI.”

The stadium erupted in cheers while welcoming the T20 World Cup champions. Wankhede Stadium welcomed fans for free last evening to witness the felicitation ceremony of the Indian cricket team. We saw Virat, Rohit, and Jadeja donning the Indian T20I jersey for one last time. The biggest highlight was the cricketers and fans singing Vande Mataram together. I get goosebumps every time I watch this video, just like the crores of fans who have waited so long for this iconic day.
Well, Thursday evening in Mumbai was one for the books!
