Coronavirus has grappled the nation with fear, but during these times we’re still fighting strong all thanks to the tireless efforts of our essential service providers. While we, the ‘Aam Janata’, have stood up on our balconies, applauded for them, thanked them through various social media posts and have even refrained from stepping out of our homes to make their work easier, the armed forces of our country have also extended heartfelt gratitude to them. So here are some of the ways the armed forces in India have united to honour our corona warriors.

1. The Indian Airforce (IAF) Showered Petals On Hospitals

The IAF helicopters showered petals on hospitals across 15 cities. By extending this heartfelt gesture, they expressed their tribute towards the medical professionals fighting coronavirus. IAF’s SU-30 flew past over KEM and Kasturba Hospital to their respect and appreciate the frontline workers for their tireless efforts. AIF helicopter showered rose petals on the staff of the Indian Navy’s INHS ASVINI. Su-30, MiG-29, Jaguar, C 130 flew over Delhi to show solidarity with the COVID fighters. The aircrafts flew over Rajpath, Raisina Hill, Red Fort and India Gate to salute the warriors. IAF helicopters showered flower petals over the National Police Memorial in Delhi, expressing tribute to police officials.

2. The Indian Army Paid Respect To The Essential Service Providers

In Delhi, the Indian Army Band paid their respect to medical workers at AIIMS, LNJP Hospital and Ganga Ram Hospital. The Indian Army Band also gave a tribute performance at a government hospital in Panchkula Hospital in Haryana to salute the frontline workers.

3. The Indian Navy Saluted Corona Warriors

INS Jalashwa in the Bay of Bengal, saluted the corona warriors helping the nation. Officers of these Tri-Services pay homage to the martyrs of the National Police Memorial. 1500 naval personnel at INS Hansa Goa,  in spotless white uniform, wearing peak caps and masks came together to form a human chain message, displaying ‘India Salutes Corona Warriors’. It truly is heartwarming to witness these wonderful gestures extended as a tribute to our corona warriors, battling it out day and night as the number of coronavirus cases rise in the country.
