Perched at a height of 15,396 feet, the ATM is flanked by snow-capped mountains and is operational since 2016. Khunjerab Pass ATM, The Highest ATM In The World
The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) had constructed this ATM in a span of just four months. While the cash machine was set up as a cash withdrawal and bill payment facility for the locals and other people near the border, it soon became a tourist hotspot due to its breathtaking location and ‘highest‘ status. Traversing the rugged terrains and reaching the ATM can be one of the most thrilling experiences a traveller can ever have.
Interestingly, the ATM functions on solar and wind energies. No wonder, it is one of the most photogenic ATMs in the world. The authorities take extra care for the maintenance of the Khunjerab Pass ATM during winter. As the winter temperature in the region dips to sub-zero levels and the entire region gets wrapped in a blanket of snow.
The Khunjerab Pass ATM helps with cash withdrawals, digital bill payments and also fund transfers.
