That’s because, at this beach, you can watch the sunset over the horizon and feel the waves crash at your feet along with the purring of a gentle and soft four-legged companion! In fact, this beach is home to more than 300 cats! It is a non-profit animal shelter that runs entirely on donations.

According to an article recently published by Says, it was founded by Teviot Fairservis and Nana Bin Wanchik. The duo wanted to create a safe space for kittens and cats and so, they opened the Cat Beach Sanctuary in the year 2011. In addition to a unique destination, the cat shelter also provides intensive care for injured kitties.

The owners say that people frequently bring in cats that have been mauled or burned with hot water and they work towards rehabilitating these cats. It also provides other care facilities for cats like spaying and neutering. Many people drop off kittens that need shelter or other facilities at this sanctuary. Entry here is absolutely free but you can choose to give a donation so that they can continue the good work they’re doing.
