Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir has been in the news for quite some time. Recently, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced the opening of an international airport ‘Lord Rama’ airport by 2021. Once the construction of the Ram Mandir completes, and it opens its doors to devotees, Ayodhya expects a significant rise in tourism. A Ram Rath Yatra started from Tamil Nadu’s Rameswaram on September 17. And it has finally reached Ayodhya on October 7 along with a gigantic bell weighing over 600 kg that would be installed at Ram temple. This ‘Grand Bell’ is 4.1 feet tall and has “Jai Sri Ram” embossed on it. It is noteworthy that this Yatra was organised by Chennai-based ‘Legal Rights Council’.

Raj Laxmi Maada Drove The Rath All The Way From Rameswaram To Ayodhya
Raj Laxmi Maada drove the Ram Rath all the way from Rameswaram to Ayodhya. She is fondly known as Bullet Rani. Maada also holds a world record of pulling 9.5 tonnes of weight. She pulled the rath at a distance of 4500 km spanning 10 states. Rath told IANS “When the 613 kg bell would be rung, the sound would be heard within the periphery of 10 km of the temple town. Also, the sound of the bell will echo ‘Om’.” The Ram Rath carried idols of Lord Ram, Sita, Lakshman, Lord Ganesha and Lord Hanuman, made of bronze.

According to TNIE, Rath mentioned that she considered this as a blessing to play the charioteer of the Ram Rath. Her 21-day voyage across 11 states was indeed a special one. The bell and idols were handed to the Secretary of Ram Mandir Trust, Champat Rai at Ram Mandir Nirmaan Karyashala on October 7 in presence of Ram Mandir Trust member, Anil Mishra, Mahant Dinendra Das and Vimlendra Mishra.
