Back In 1983, This Kolkata Restaurant Introduced Sichuan-Style Food To The City

Pinned in a corner of Kolkata’s Park Street, the dainty doorway of Ming Room has been luring its patrons for over three decades now. Trincas had launched Ming Room in 1983 and it was the first eatery to add Sichuan-Style cuisine to the food map of Kolkata. Back then, Chinese food offered in Kolkata was mostly Cantonese. By introducing the zestier side of Chinese cuisine, Ming Room made a place in the hearts of the foodies in no time. The legendary restaurant has reopened after the pandemic with a revamped look and a fresh new menu.
