Bali Tourists Urged To Follow Flag Safety System At Beaches
Popular tourist beaches in Bali, Indonesia, follow a standard four-colour flag system managed by local lifeguards. According to The Bali Sun, there is currently a risk to beachgoers as there are high chances of tidal swells, higher wave heights and strong undercurrents at the beaches during this season. This is why lifeguards are now conducting increased patrols along Jerman Beach and Mengening Beach.
Reportedly, the staff have been divided into northern and southern zones to ensure the entire coastal area remains monitored at all times. A high wave warning is in place, and tourists are being urged not to swim in areas marked with red flags. Notably, a red flag at a beach means high danger.

Visitors Are Advised To Stay Careful
According to The Bali Sun, tourists are advised to swim only in areas marked with red and yellow flags, which are supervised by lifeguards. Areas marked with red over yellow flags basically mean the area is safe. But visitors should swim only under lifeguard supervision. A green flag means low hazard, while a single yellow flag means medium hazard.
In addition to obeying the flag safety system, visitors should also follow the instructions of lifeguards on duty. Parents bringing children to the beach are also asked to supervise them closely. The months of July and August in Bali can bring high tides. This is why surveillance is increased, and visitors are advised to stay careful for their safety.
