Where Are Indians Heading For Monsoon Travel?

With monsoon travel picking up, Booking.com has shared new search data revealing how Indian travellers are choosing destinations based on experiences rather than traditional seasonal getaways. While Rishikesh, Mussoorie, Jaipur and Udaipur emerged as top domestic destinations, internationally, London remained a top favourite.

Interestingly, Tokyo emerged as one of the most searched destinations, thanks to people’s growing interest in culture, food and urban experiences of the city. Indonesia is also increasingly on travellers’ radar, especially Bali, with Ubud retaining its place among the top 10 most searched destinations and both Seminyak and Canggu seeing growing interests.

As per accommodation search data from Booking.com for all Indian travellers travelling between July 1, 2026, to August 31, 2026, these are the top 10 domestic destinations travel lovers are choosing this monsoon –

3. Rishikesh
4. New Delhi
5. Jaipur
6. Mussoorie
7. Chennai
8. Kolkata
9. Udaipur
10. Hyderabad

Rishikesh witnessed a massive uptick in accommodation searches, seeing over a 200% year-on-year rise. Mussoorie also climbed the rankings, recording over a 160% increase in searches.
