Security checks at airports are a mandatory process. It comprises the strategies and procedures employed in an effort to safeguard travellers, employees, aircraft, and airport assets against malicious injury, criminal activity, terrorism, and other dangers. To protect civil aviation from unauthorised influence, a variety of steps are taken along with both people and material resources. However, at Bangalore’s Kempegowda International Airport, a woman passenger allegedly refused to undergo the security check. Moreover, she assaulted the CISF personnel!
Bangalore Airport: Woman Refused To Undergo Security Check
According to a report in the Times of India, a woman at Bengaluru Airport refused to go through the required security check and then attacked a constable on Tuesday. On Tuesday morning, Neha Gupta from Siliguri, West Bengal, was scheduled to depart from Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport.
She was detained by airport police for assaulting a CISF constable, therefore she was unable to travel to Bagdogra as planned on her AirAsia ticket. According to the report, she arrived at Terminal 2 of Kempegowda International Airport at 10.50 am on Tuesday. And proceeded to the pre-departure security check area, however, she resisted having her searched there.
She Assaulted The CISF Personnel
The CISF officer stated that the woman arrived at the CISF bay for pre-departure checks at 10.50 am. She was invited to enter the enclosure for a pat-down by female constable Sushila Kumar, but for unclear reasons, she refused. Soon, she got into a heated argument with the constable who informed her that she must be frisked in order to board her flight, failing which she won’t be allowed to.
During the incident, the passenger assaulted the CISF officer; as a result, other authorities came to intercede and turned the woman over to airport police. Security at the airport works to stop any threats or potentially hazardous situations from developing or entering the nation. The possibility of any harmful circumstance, illegal object, or threat entering a plane, a nation, or an airport is significantly lowered if airport security does successfully.
As a result, airport security fulfils several functions, including defending the nation and the airport from potential threats, assuring those who are travelling that they are safe, and defending the nation and its citizens.
